Jagrukta
The poor suffers to an extent that they take it to their fate their poverty. The poor take it to their heart that they are stuck in poverty and upliftment is impossible. For them, their children also have to continue the same occupation as it is more convenient for them.
Parivartan runs a program known as ‘Jagrukta’ wherein the poor and underprivileged are motivated through lectures and talks. The women and children are motivated to study and join the evening classes. The men are made aware of their rights and privileges as citizens. These people are very shy, hesitant and want no trouble in life. Many a times, they even don’t want to send children to school. The main aim of Jagrukta mission is perseverance, the effort to continuously generate awareness among the poor to study, keep personal hygiene and know government policies.
Recently, Parivartan team visited the East Delhi riot locations and made them aware of Govt ex gratia and other policies aftermath of riots. In Jammu, the team visited houses of Gujjar Community and different slums and gave a pep talk to women on cleanliness and distributed stuff and helped them in opening Bank Accounts.
